Vintage Lemonade Stand

At the beginning of the summer we held a couple of days of mini sessions...vintage lemonade stand style.  I have to admit, they were my favorite batch of mini sessions yet.  The kiddos all came, played, laughed and some of them even ate. Because I fear it would be a bit overwhelming for you (okay, okay overwhelming for me) if I posted all of the pictures at once, I'll be posting several of the sessions over the next little while. First up..little miss Sunnie!

And speaking of mini sessions, stay tuned, I will be posting the dates for some fun Fall and Halloween ones soon!

My girl

The thing is, I don't take nearly enough pictures of my own kids. Which is shameful considering I first got into photography so I could document more of their little lives. The other day I was reading the amazing Nichole V's blog and I laughed out loud when she mentioned she is usually the only one without a camera at family events. That is me. But, I've vowed to do better. A few months ago, armed with my new goal, I followed my oldest out into our "yard" to capture her in her element and document this stage in her life.  I stalked her as she wandered one her favorite paths with my camera in hand.  The result?  Pictures I will cherish for the rest of my life.

The {H} Family

It was 124 degrees on the afternoon of this shoot. Joking. But man, was it toasty! We still had a lot of fun, though.  What an amazing little family!

Birthday Babes

You'll recognize the little dude in these pictures as my one true love.  And the girl?  My adorable little niece.  The two monkeys were due about a month apart but ended up being a mere 2 1/2 hours apart. I was ecstatic.  We like to joke about how they are better than twins.  All the fun, but the "work" is split between four adults instead of two.  All you Utahans will get a kick out of this...their names are Parley and Canyon. It wasn't until they were a day or two old that we realized the humor in that. Anyway, from the day they were born I was dreaming of their joint cake smashing session. And what an adventure it was.  Allow me to narrate...

Okay babies, go ahead eat up...

Yeah, I'm not so sure about this

Oh come on, it can't be that bad.  Hey Parley, it's cake!  CAKE!!  Come on, you gotta' try this!!!

Oh for crying out loud... it's delicious.

Heeeelp! It's ooey!  It's gooey!  Why oh why are you making me do this?

Well, if you're not going to eat it...
*take notice of little dude starting to slip into his sugar daze*

Cant. Stop. Eating. Sugary. Goodness.

It's all over me! This is by far the worst day of my entire life.

Huh, yeah, well good luck with that.  I'm off to find a cold sippy cup of milk.

Wait a minute.  Are you saying that if we EAT this STUFF we can LEAVE?  There.  Are you happy now?

Bright Colors = Happy Me

Alright.  I admit it, my blog has fell to the wayside of lame again.  But don't you worry, I have every intention of bringing it back. Ha! Now, lets start with this gorgeous family...  as the title suggests I was thrilled by their choice in outfits.  For some reason I seem to be drawn to vibrant colors. Yes indeed, bright colors = a very happy me.

baby mine

My baby turned the big 1 this week.  Let me tell you, it was bittersweet.  I don't think anything goes by faster than a baby's first year.  I took about a thousand pictures of him for his one year pics.  I'm sure I'll be posting more sometime soon but for now, enjoy my favs.

Handsome little monster, isn't he?
